Our comprehensive curriculum continues to provide deep-dive insights into leadership dynamics, regional government, regional economic development, education, and more. Building on the success of previous cohorts, our sessions remain dedicated to accessibility, disabilities, and inclusion, ensuring every graduate is equipped to lead an inclusive community. To date, our participants have launched 8 community impact projects that directly benefit the North Texas Region.

TLT Texas Leadership-Blackland Prairie
SEPTEMBER THROUGH APRIL
TLT Texas Leadership-Blackland Prairie is a eight-month program that develops community leaders through monthly, 2nd Thursday sessions on regional government, economic development, education and more. Each class completes a community project. Applications open in May. The Audience is current and future leaders who are looking to invest in the Blackland Prairie region. Lifelong leadership is inspired by this program. Employers benefit from employees with enhanced regional networking and strategic decision-making skills.
Tuition 2026/2027 Cohort

Applicants that are not chamber members $1550
Application Fee: $30 non-refundable
Full payment is required upon acceptance and no later than August 13, 2026. If needed, a payment plan can be requested.

Please note that tuition payments are non-refundable, and late payments will result in forfeiture of participation.

January Self-Guided Interim: Accessibility Site Audits & Community Project Planning (No formal session).
February 11 | Regional Tourism & Quality of Life: Universal Design in Public Spaces and Cultural Inclusion.
March 11 | Servant Leadership & SIMSOC: Leading with Empathy and Collaborative Governance.
April 18 | Healthcare, Disabilities, Accessibility & Inclusion: Systems of Care and Advocacy for an Accessible
Future.
April 29 | Community Project Presentations & Graduation: Showcasing Sustainable Solutions for an Inclusive
Blackland Prairie.
Successful completion requires attendance at the retreat, graduation, and missing no more than 10.5 hours of class time.
Requesting Accommodations: If you require specific accommodations (such as American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, large-print materials, dietary adjustments, or sensory considerations) to fully participate in the Blackland Prairie cohort, please let us know. We ask that requests be made at least 30 days prior to the session date to ensure we can meet your needs effectively.

Participation in this program is a commitment. Class members who miss more than one and a half class sessions (or the equivalent of 10.5 hours) will no longer be eligible to continue in the program or graduate. Content and dates are subject to change.
Selection Process
Each year, up to 36 candidates are selected to participate in the program. Our program strives to mirror the vibrant tapestry of the Blackland Prairie region, bringing together leaders from every sector and background who are committed to the well-being of the Blackland Prairie Region and are interested in assuming greater responsibility for the future leadership of our communities.
Selection is based solely on an applicant’s merit from the information provided in the application.
The Criteria for Selection Includes:
• A history of involvement or a strong desire to become actively involved in the community;
• A commitment to ongoing personal development and community education;
• A willingness to accept leadership roles within civic, charitable, and community organizations;
• A commitment to program attendance and participation requirements.
All applicants will be notified of their status via email by August 7th.
