Texas young adults 15- adult, across Texas, take part in a curriculum based, hands-on internship opportunity to gain valuable work experience, explore a career path, develop, and refine skills, gain confidence and build professional relationships. All career paths can find a valuable opportunity in one of the positions offered, the experience is tailored to the participant.
Mentors share their professional journeys—the challenges, gratifications, and key strategies for success. Sessions focus on career pathing, resume building, skill development, and mock interviews—all conducted virtually. Our goal is to expand mindsets, increase career awareness, and provide access to supportive, experienced professionals. These meetings take place during virtual team meetings or coordinated with the mentee remotely during a time that fits your schedule.
Facilitators conduct weekly team meetings and schedule bi-weekly 1-on-1 sessions with each intern to guide them through the program curriculum.
High School Cohorts: Typically meet remotely in the late afternoon/early evening (Fall & Spring).
Adult Cohorts: Meet remotely during daytime hours on Tuesdays.
Our onboarding process is designed to be structured, rewarding, and flexible enough to fit a busy professional schedule:
Quick Onboarding: Complete your registration and a brief multi-state background check, usually takes 2-3 days to process.
Attend a virtual training session: scheduled one or two weeks prior.
Weekly Team Engagement: Select a team meeting time (on Tuesdays) to observe intern project presentations and provide constructive feedback, 1x as mentor.
Interactive Breakouts: Connect directly with interns tailored to your specific industry or skill set during short breakout rooms during team meeting.
Tailored 1-on-1 Mentorship: When a mutual match is made, you and your intern will schedule private virtual sessions (at times that work best for both of you) to work on career goals, resume reviews, and interview prep.
Note: All TLT Leading Leaders Intern sessions are conducted remotely/virtually.
